Programme

Day of arrival: Pick up at BSI Reykjavík, not later then 16.00,  and arrival at Gröf approximately 2,5/3 hrs later. After settling in and a light meal, it’s time for our guests to meet the horses and go for 1,5 hrs evening ride along the light, sandy beach of Gröf to get to know the horses.

For the next three days, we ride from Gröf through a breath taking, ever-changing landscape. From the sandy beach of Gröf, through rough lava of Búðahraun, over sparkling streams and rivers until we reach the golden, sandy coastline of Löngufjörur. One of the highlights of this tour is to tölt on the smooth trail of Löngufjörur, only revealed by low tide,  which is as thrilling and exciting for the horses as the riders, when the horses can run free without any obstacles to slow them down with a view of the strikingly beautiful glacier Snaefellsjökull.

Another highlight is our ride to the village Arnarstapi where we cross waterfalls high on the cliffs.

It’s a round tour but at the end of each riding day we return to our farm Gröf, you’ll stay at The Holy Ram Lodge, while the horses stay on a field where we stopped for the day.

On the 5th day, after breakfast, we’ll drive you back to BSI Busstation in Reykjavik, where you’ll arrive between 12.00/13.00.

Intermediate/experienced riders 4-5 hrs / day in saddle
Maximum number of guests in our tours is 12
